Inspire Workshops for staff and pupils in practical tools for emotional regulation
Evidence shows that we are only able to learn and co-operate when our emotions and nervous system are in a state of regulation. Child and adolescent mental health specialist, Dr Jennie Eeles, and singing for health practitioner-researcher, Ruth Routledge, offer CPD staff training and workshops for pupils on evidence-based techniques for regulation and co-regulation for the classroom and beyond.

About us
Dr Jennie Eeles
In my job in mental health services with Hampshire CAMHS, I regularly help people to regulate their emotions and nervous systems in varied and practical ways. Over the last four years I have been exploring singing for regulation practice and am excited to be able to share my discoveries. The research into the application of polyvagal theory outlines how beneficial the use of voice, movement, breathing and grounding into the body are to regulation and how relevant this is to children and young people.
Ruth Routledge
I am passionate about incorporating my extensive experience in schools and the Southbank Centre’s educational outreach projects with the latest research on emotional regulation. We know that breathing, moving and singing together helps us feel calmer and more connected to others and ourselves. Through research we are now learning how. Our workshops provide the practical tools going beyond words to understand and apply this.
